Someone believes that having natural food is safer from toxin than processed foods, expecially, organic vegetables. In fact, organic foods also contain toxin naturally produced to protect themselves from diseases, insects and another animals. Thought danger of toxin in these foods is little it's still poisonous. According to the research, we found that there is some toxins in cabbage, turnip and chinese mustard which can be cause of goiter. Fortunately, we don't always eat them and don't eat them too much. Moreover, these toxins can be destroyed by heat. Besides vegetables listed above, there is also substance called “Cyanogen” in unripe peanut and appricot seeds. It will become “Cyanide” after decomposition. Bitter substance in potato called “Solanin” which heat cannot reduce or destroy is toxic,too. Normally, this toxin is always found in the area of under potato peel. So, peeling its skin to reduce the toxin. But if potato is still bitter, it means that Solanin still remains.
