Generally, we can classify contact lenses by considering from material into 2 groups:

1.RGP CL (Rigid Gas Permeable): Rigid Gas Permeable lenses are small, durable and slightly flexible lenses that are custom designed as specification of your doctor to fit your eyes. This lens is easy to wear and take off and also provide sharp clear vision. The useful life is about 5-7 years.

2.SCL (Soft Contact Lens): Soft Contact Lenses are made of Hema silicon which can make them softer and more slightly flexible. Due to its thin size and material, the wearer won't be irritated when blinking. Its useful life is about 1-2 years.

Besides material, contact lenses can be classified by useful life:

-Conventional: Its useful life is about 1-2 years.

-Disposable: There are both daily and monthly use. The price depends on their quality, durability, design, useful life and brand. The worldwide popular brands are Alcon, Baush & Lomb, Cibi Vision, Duna and Johnson & Johnson. Generally, the price starts at 13.75USD/box (there are 6 lenses / box).

Everything has 2 sides, both positive and negative, including contact lenses. These are not suitable for all users, for diabetes, hypertension, allergy and sinus patients, wearing contact lenses should be avoided because these will irritate their eyes.
